that usuaklly have electric everything on them (seats, windows, air-con etc) as these tend to have 80+ amp alternators.

The two-in-one alternator/aircon units came off the DCi engines I was using to test auto boxes for Clio, Scenic and the small engined Lagunas
(Never, Never buy a Renault/PSA automatic!)

Yes i am sure my alternator is only 30 amps. Just bought a spare one because 24 Volts is not availablein Africa. Also I do not agree with putting a second alternator up. Only more moving parts, more wear, less reliability. Theoratically they can break down one after the other. I put the spare alternator in the back of the car and that way I am sure I always have a back up. But that only my humble opinion.
