80L Engel Fridge 12/24V
 

Hi everybody,

We currently have a 110L Waeco fridge in our commercial overland truck. It has done very well to date, though has really poor catches and hinges (plastic) which are susceptible to breaking.

Therefore looking at an Engel for the next one, as it looks to me like they have stainless steel catches and hinges, and are generally speaking more robust.

Can anybody tell me if Engel make a 12/24V fridge that is larger than 60L capacity? That is the largest I can find on the internet. Ideally we need 100L or larger, though can settle for 80L if necessary.

Engel do an 80 Litre, the MT 80F, its available in North America and Austrailia, not sure about Europe, also look at the National Luna range, some models up to 125 litres and very robust, but not quite as energy efficient as the Engels.

Big Engel's available in Germany at a lot less than the UK.
There is a Camping shop in Chemnitz where we got our 60ltr Waeco from for 700 euro. Auto Freizeit was the name of the shop i think.

IndelB 12V/24V fridge
 

The last 5 years, we are using the Italian made IndelB (42 lt capacity, 12/24V only).

We are more than satisfied with the general operation, the building quality and the super cold beers!!

Just wanted to share ;-)

Buy 2? 2 x 60l = 120l ...
There are advantages of two;
if one breaks down you have a spare
use one for meats etc, the other for drinks/veg

Could you replace the plastic hinges and catch on the present fridge with some ss ones?
