The widest wheel that landrover made is the wheel for the forward control or the 127/130 which are 6.5" wide (to my knowledge anyway)
They are fine for 900x16 but not for the alternative tall tyres (315/75/16 et al). They will also cope with 255/85/16 though Wolf wheels I think are the same size but to use those you would have to change the studs on your axles as the wolf wheels are thicker I'll dig out the page from the 101fc mag and scan it for you for the part numbers etc. I'm off soon (like days) to north africa but if you need shower stuff then talk to andy (www.allisport.com) as he has stocks. Your best bet maybe to use 255/85/16 tyres if your gearing can cope as you cn get a good choice and they are well mannered on the road ------------------ Rich LR101 300Tdi Ambi 'Tiggurr' |
Hi there,
go to the website of Keep them Rolling(www.ktr.nl)in the Netherlands or a the MVCC in England. These clubs are for people who are restorating army vehicle from the second world war. Most of these truck (esspec. Dodges) have 9.00 x 16 tyres. They must know addresses where you can buy them. Van Dam in Bennekom (Holland) does sell them. good luck Roland |
