And yes, Martyboy, we usually travel with the minimum, -leave the guns at home..., as the song says- but three people, (one way over a 100 kilos, the security man) it's already about 270 kilos + about 290 L of fuel + about 130 L water. This is about 800 kilos.
I was told that with a hdj 80 you are not supposed to carry as many spares as with the good old landy , enough to open your personal spares shop, but I guess you got to carry some. Which, I don't know yet but I'll ask around. many thanks ! |
Would a trailer like the sankey as used by the army be any good ? This would take some strain off the motor suspension and would also spread the load over more wheels so less likley to sink in soft sand. Not sure about this as i`ve never used a trailer.

A Trailer ? It would be nice to have all the gear and extra fuel out in a trailer, and keep the cabin kind of clean but I'm afraid it'd be too much for the A.T. after all its not a real truck, and the trailer also may be quite difficult over soft sand.
