Buying an Iveco 40.10: checklist
Hi there,
After doing lots of travelling on a motorbike, it's now time for doing it with a 4x4. As I have two kids now (I know, I'm sorry...) the plan was to buy a 4x4 camper. So now I have an option to buy a camper converted Iveco 40.10 from 1991. I found lots of topics about the Iveco 4x4, but none with a 'ready to use' buyer's guide. I'm specifically looking for checklist of technical items I should check before buying the Iveco. So anyone with tips, please post them! Cheers, Corné |
I would say check the normal things you would check for any vehicle, the chassis is made from very thick steel so apart from surface rust should be ok. If it has a current MOT that says a lot as far as bushes go etc. If you are not sure about the engine get someone to look at it for you. maybe other owners can suggest specifics but mine seems very sound. I have replaced brake pipes and sorted a few dodgy conections but that is it.
