David,
I can't help you out by offering you a camperunit. There are a few option depending on your budget. My 110 was a HCPU the load bay has been removed and replaced by a small adapted camper unit bolted to the chassis. There are a few pics of our car on our website.. There are also specialized conversion companies that doe a fantastic job of converting a Landrover, Toyota or any 4x4 for that matter. One of my favorites is in Germany. Can't remember if their site is also in English but the pics speak for themselves www.innovation-campers.de There are also a few companies that specialize in pop top roofs of diferent kinds. Dormobile, Foleys, in the UK Theres one in Zwitserland that I have forgotten the name of but a search on internet will find it (Poptop, expedition etc.) Fit a poptop of some kind to your station 4x4 source some cooking equipment, a compressor fridge, boxes for all the rubbish that you won't need and you are on your way. Another option is use the load bay of a High Cap Pick-up. Fix a box type frame to it and you can kit it out. www.psp-expeditioncampers.com is a guy in Holland that does this conversion. You can also make your own box type unit and bolt it to the chassis. That gives you flexibility to kit it out as you like. If you plan for example to ship your car to South Africa and start driving there then I would take it as bare as possible and kit it out down there. There are some really neat camper units available that bolt on to your chassis or load bay. As you can see there are many choices available. I love a roof top tent but I am so glad our 110 is kitted out with a small camper unit. When the weather gets bad we have that little bit extra comfort and are still very 4x4 able. The key is keep you weight down and low Good luck in finding what you need Ian |

Not demountable but worth a look are the lifting roof conversions by these outfits.
These allow you to turn your 110 into as much of a camper as you like without compromising on everyday useability or driver comfort. Ex-Tec ® - Expeditions- und Rallye-Technik .....::::: Safaricentre.ch :::::..... Eezi Awn, Hannibal, Poptop, Howling Moon, Offroad, Dachzelt, Dachträger Foley's in the UK show something similar on their website, but no longer manufacture them. |
Safari Centre
The guys at the safari centre are very helpful. I've had a fair bit of work done there on my landy. It's not really a camper. The pop top they make will set you back about 10000 CHF which is about 4500 GBP. Chris at the safari centre speaks perfect english, it's also called the B5-group now. Still the same guys, they merged with another company that does exactly the same sort of thing.
