Discovery 200 tdi for sale
For Sales, my 200 Tdi Discovery....
Discovery 200 Tdi. 1991 H reg. 5 door. 7 seats. 5 speed manual gearbox. Allisport full sized intercooler. Tow bar. Twin sun roofs. electric windows. electric mirrors. Metallic grey paint. Blue interior. Alloy wheels. MOT'd till October 2005 Tax till Sept 2005 In the last year it has had, new alternator (last week) new water pump new exhaust (not front pipe) new radiator new seals in power steering box new complete lower steering column and UJs new brake pads new indicator switch the year before that it had, new injector pump (very expensive) 4 x new injectors new big allisport intercooler (also very expensive) new fancy silicone intercooler hoses new rear shocks new brake discs new fuel tank sender unit new rear floor new rear inner wheel arches new head gasket (all these parts add-up to more than the asking price!) And obviously all the things at MOT time, UJs, track rod ends, bushes, etc.. I have done all the servicing myself every 6000 miles, but there is no service history. The bigger intercooler makes a huge difference in torque, and because of this the Discovery is such a good pulling / towing vehicle. The bigger intercooler also makes it much more efficient, so it does not use loads of fuel when you use all the extra power. I get on average about 26mpg. And on a run it'll do around 30mpg. If you take it easy it would do much better. Not bad when you consider this is about 30% more powerful than every other 200 Tdi. The ride, steering, brakes etc are all perfect. The only things that are wrong with it are, rear washer does not work rear heated window does not work central locking does not work radio is not very good rear floor carpet is stained no syncro on second gear no little cowling on steering column The bodywork and interior are in average condition. The tyres are ok but pretty low. Generally speaking this is a very nice 1991 Discovery. And it is VERY powerful due to the bigger intercooler. Please understand that this is in used condition, it is thirteen years old. It has done 123 thousand miles which is under average for the year. The price is £2500 ono Tel 01629 55855 e-mail sales@mattsavage.com a couple of pictures at www.mattsavage.com/matt let me know if you want any more, I'll nip out and take one. 'Nuff said! ------------------ pigapicha |
There's no need to be like that!
As a matter of fact I am selling my Disco as I've just bought a 1991 80 series Land Cruiser! Although the Toyota has a 6 cylinder 4.2 turbo diesel, it is not as quick as the Discovery. But it is more comfortable, quiet etc. And I hope a little more reliable. But the Disco is much better off road. After all Land Rover only make off road vehicles, even the Freelander is best off road in it's class... But if I want to go off road I have my fire breathing 80" V8 series 1 Landy. So as my only off roading in my 'every day car' is dragging heavy trailers through mud, I don't need the off road ability of the Disco, but I do like the build of the Toyota.... oh, and the engine sounds beautiful! Anyway this is a boring topic "which is better" they are both good and very different. See ya.. |
Matt
Only kidding... I too have a Landcruiser, 93 80 series import, only done 52k miles and in fantastic nick. Just starting to modify it now for Africa next year. Can't wait. My feelings towards LRs and Discos comes from being quite badly (and dangerously) let down in Bosnia during the war. Irrespective of what cars we use, or tents etc etc we're all after the same thing and i have no doubt we'd all team up to help someone out. Oh by the way I'lll be after a viair comp in the new year. Have a good christmas.. ------------------ pigapicha |
