Tablet - Amp - Speakers

I'm having an internal refresh of my 110 hardtop Defender including audio and GPS etc and would appreciate any advice along the following please....

I have started to use my iPad (2014 Air 2 version) for navigation, offline with Sygic etc, and this seems to be the way forward. Now I need to hook it up to an audio system, I already have some 15 year old Infinity Tweeters and 6x9" speakers which seem good, plus a small Pioneer subwoofer.

Is there a quality Amp that will accept a direct USB iPad connection and charge the iPad whilst playing music from it?

Seems many offer a Bluetooth connection, but given I have to plug in my iPad somewhere anyway and the quality loss of bluetooth it would be nice to find an amp that allowed this - a morning of googling has not found anything...

Most amps will take a 3.5 stereo connection..
so get a usb to 3.5 stereo converter that also charges the usb ... ???

Quality of music over Bluetooth is pretty good. Just hook it up to some USB port (or something else) for power and connect via bluetooth. Bonus is you can walk away and sit outside to look at maps when not driving, and the music will still continue.

Thanks, but I find it pretty 'thin' and 'tinny' and like to listen to FLAC files etc.
Seems I've found a way to do this, will report back when its installed and working well, or not etc

I have just bought a set of Custom moulded Earmold earplugs fitted with speakers that plugs into my sENA 20S ( or directly into my Iphone)
Sound quality is unbelievable. Only draw back is the cord but I can live with that and added bonus is no wind noise

Thanks, but illegal to use in a vehicle where I live etc

are you sure the tinnyness isnt the panels rattling:cool4:

The tinny sound is the sound quality of blutooth and Mp3. Lossless files are the only way to get good quality...Let me know what if any solution you find and if I find something I will post. At home I use a laptop with an external sound card. For the camper I have been looking at double din touch screen units but not really sure of sound quality, so if anyone can recommend one??
