what compressor
5 daysfrom a rtw trip my truckair has let me down,thinking of buying an under the bonnet arb,do they last or worth the money,to be bolted where the acon should be
any advice wellcome tim |
We used an ARB compressor through africa without any problems. It was used a lot, and in the desert often for bringing our Michelin 7.50x16 XZYs from 0.6 bar up to 2.5 bar.
We also have one from Grand Erg, but have seldom used it since the ARB was handily mounted in the engine compartment. It's not as quick as our Grand Erg compressor, but then, a few minutes differance doesn't matter that much out in the bush! Good luck! I think ARB is overpriced. I just bought a thai unit that looks exactly like a viar. Was 200 EUR, pumps twice the volume of an ARB ...
you'll find less expensive things in shops that supply parts for trucks etc. |
Recently bought an Italian made pump called Air Flash 12;
750 watts, pumps as well as my neighbour's workshop pump. Cost 500€ from an industrial supplies (bearings, belts, compressors etc.) shop in Grenoble. They had it to me in 24 hours. It wouldn't take much to mount it, but I'm keeping it portable. I just want to replace the bulky battery clips with a high current quick connect (like on electric pallet trolleys) Happy hunting Luke |
sorted the compressor many thanks lads went for an arb in the end, time was against me. tim
