Hi Gavin,
Have you done your insurance yet? I got 3rd party on the net from Footman James. No questions about residency, accepted my International Licence, and cost BP92.00 ish about 2/3 of the next closest quote. I'm off on the 25th May, so I'm getting kind of excited. I'm off round Scotland and the TT before I go over to France. Who knows, maybe we'll bump into each other on the road somewhere. Ed |
Hi Gav,
I guess you will be near Utah beach in Normandy around Ste mere l'Eglise is also a good sight to see (place where a parachutist was stocked on the church roof) From there, I may recommand that you follow for a while the coast to Omaha beaches (many sights of D Day, probably the most impressive) then head south of caen, thury Harcourt and Domfront (D962) and then follow direction to Alençon. From there go straight to Le mans (see the circuit) and then go to Tours. Have a loof at the map and you will see that there are a lot of other options. We were there last week end and the mileage from carentan to Tours is 287 km average. Let me know on what date you have planned to be in Tours. Ride safe laurent |

I'm a day behind you heading for London, then once I have picked up the bike , it's down to Brighton then across into France. Nervous excitement is the way I would put things at the moment. Thanks again, Gav. |

At this point I ahve no date in mind, just a general sort of outline. I will be in Normandy on the 1st of June for 3 nights, but after that is an unknown. I will keep in touch as I move along. Good to hear from you, Gav. |

Hi Gav, Got it over the net.I'm still in Oz for a few more days. It cost about 92 quid for 12 months. Check out their quotes. It takes a week or so to actually get the papers, so you better get a move on with it. I got mine sent to the guy I've bought the bike off. Have a great trip Ed |
