Anyone ridden Romania ( Transfagarasan ) to Montenegro
Planning to do this in July, starting off in Sibiu ( Romania ) , do the Transfagarasan with an overnight stop in Donji Milanovac ( Serbia) then on to Montenegro. Would be interested to hear your stories and recommendations on road conditions, best routes and border crossings. TIA

Very nice. Get the michelin map of romania and take the green routes. Do listen to what grip your tyres are telling you as some of the surfaces are slippier than their west-european equivalents.

Hi, if you ride a trail bike then ride the Transalpina. Brasov is worth a visit.Andy B

Hi!
You can enter Serbia at Drobeta Turnu Severin and go to Donji Milanovac. From Donji Milanovac, there is a road beside a Danube...very good road to Pozarevac. From Pozarevac, take any road to Kraljevo and south from Kraljevo to Montenegro is one of the best road-Ibarska magistrala...(canyon of river Ibar) |

Hi if you need some advice or a place to stay get in touch. KTMmartin visited us last year. that reminds me never did get the tyre levers back but in uk for a while so should get to see him. also consider the transalpina highway this year is last chance to ride it before it has a new tarmac surface but will still be good. we live in Brasov 1hr from the transfagarasian turn off

Did you get your route all figured out? I am going to be traveling from Greece to Austria at the end of april, and I think the Montenegro driving sounds the nicest.
