baltic states, russia and scandinavia loop
 

hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could give some advice. My husband and I are looking at doing a loop from Calais to Esbjerg via St Petersberg and up into north west russia (petrozavodsk). We are taking three weeks in August to do this and would like some advice on:
the road conditions
The feasbility (is the route an ok length for the time we have allowed!)
Any highlights/tips
the weather!

Any reply will be helpful.

3 weeks. Wow. I lapped the Baltic in 3 weeks last year from Northern Germany. Not Calais.

You don't give enough information about your route or your method of transport but getting from Calais to Saint Petersburg thru the Basltic States could be done in a couple of days (no fun because you would just be driving) or very comfortably 7-days
petrozavodsk doesn't look that far are not as bad as you might think but can have dreadful traffic jams due to roadworks or accidents (common)
If its a loop Finland is mostly flat and safe and then ferry to Danmark , Sweden- Denmark.
Very doable in your time but make a rough route on Google maps, look at times and then add about 50% for traffic delays and sightseeing
