Bike storage in London
Hi,
Does anyone know of any services that offer bike storage/long term parking in London? I am going away for a month on Monday morning and have just been let down on the storage front. I am willing to pay of course. I am in Old st BTW. Cheers, Paul |
You can probably park it in my estate. I have a gated estate where you can park your bike. You can lock it to somethnig solid and with a cover, noone will touch it. Im in NW2.
Thanks Joe |
Hi Joe
Just incase you didn't get parking sorted, the best place to look for renting garages / secure parking etc.. is gumtree.co.uk. There is a section dedicated to parking. Obviously the further out of London you are prepared to leave your bike, the cheaper and better your chance of getting a garage or secure parking. There are sometimes other bikers on there that are looking for someone to share a garage / space to reduce the cost, it might be worth contacting one of them. Regards Andy |
In Southern England, I asked around and found a local farm with a good barn and dry area to store my Ducati for £5 a week. That sounded quite reasonable to me. If you're willing to settle for the country, it'll be a lot cheaper. Space is very much at a premium in England these days.
The reason why I had to opt for the barn, is that my friend, who was storing the bike for me, had to give up his workshop because they trebled the rent. He decided to take his business, setting up shop at home, and unfortunately was no longer able to store the Ducati. |

Contact Anette/Sunflower who posted recently in this section. She might give you free storage in exchange of some sort of service.

central London storage
I live on an estate on Camden Road (near Holloway) so pretty central and I am happy to have your bike parked outside my flat. It is estate parking so in a close.
But just to warn you - every night I got home I would check to see that my bike hadn't been nicked yet. Some local kids pushed it over against a wall and now the kill switch doesn't work. My flatmate has been mugged three times outside where we live. And my other flatmate who had a bike left his parked at work. What I am trying to say is that it would be at your own risk. PM me if you are interested. Cheers, Annette |
bike storage London Wall - EC2
there is a "pay" garage underneath London Wall (in the City - not far from Old street) however being a local authority owned and not NCP or other, bikes park for free. Fairly secure and can chain the bike on the railings..
The bike bays are full during the day but in the evening is fairly quiet so can find a decent longer term spot,. London Wall runs accross from Aldersgate (The Museum of London) to Moorgate. I have used garage for years and never had any problem. do let me know if you need directions etc. g |
