buying a bike or car in Turkey
 

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a bike (something simple like a Honda c90 or CG125) or second hand car in Turkey without a resident's permit? We're going to Turkey for 3 weeks in october and want to buy something cheap to travel round on... does anyone know any cunning ways to get round the whole residency thing? Or if not know anyone in Istanbul who would hire bikes but not bankrupt us?!

interesting idea... try sending an email to the Turkish community....

However I'm not so sure you'll get value for money, might end up with a real old banger...

Buying Car or bike in Turkey
 

You can legally buy a car and/or a bike in Turkey without working permits or residence. You cannot take the vehicle out of the country and there is no way around it.
You can resell it before leaving or you can leave it for sale with a notary mandate.
Easier and cheaper to rent on the south coast: where do you plan to travel?
