Caen and Le Havre: new regulations Jan25!
 

A message from Brittany Ferries for everyone crossing from UK to Caen or Le Havre.

On January 1 2025, Caen and Le Havre implemented low emission zones, making the Crit'Air sticker mandatory for all vehicles transiting the cities. Make sure your vehicle is equipped with the Crit'Air sticker before your next trip. The cost is approximately €5 including postage to your home address.

Our modern cars are Crit'Air stickered so no problem, but all of the old clunker two wheelers I ride are not eligible for one and are therefore 'interdit' in Le Havre, Caen and the other 20 or so controlled cities / zones in France according to the Crit'Air site. No restrictions in Calais at present or in other ferry ports like Cherbourg or St Malo.
