camping or places to stay Germany + Belgium
Hi all, started planning a small trip for me and my mate for round about June next year.
To break up some of the journey we were thinking of stopping over at places marked around C and E on the map. Any ideas of places around there or you know if its ok to camp rough out of the way? http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...nes13/trip.jpg Thanks David |
As far as I know rough camping is not allowed in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany but there are many good campsites.
On this (Dutch) site, you can search for campsites http://www.anwbcamping.nl/Default.aspx It is in Dutch but I think it is straightforward enough to find what you need. Good luck |
Hi,
Wildcamping in Netherlands and Germany is not allowed. You can hide somewhere or register here and get in contact with nice people and find places to stay: CouchSurfing - Participate in Creating a Better World, One Couch At A Time Have fun, Tobi |
Hi, not far from E is the famous race track in Spa which is a nice town and has some campsites nearby. Not in your plans but one of my favorite campsites in Germany is in Koblenz near D, the campsite is okay and only a 10 minute walk takes you into the centre of Koblenz which is well worth a visit. There is of course camping near the Nurburgring which i assumed was the reason for going to D. Andy

Thanks for the replys everyone. ill have a look into all of them.
Yes nurburgring is the were we're heading, my mates going on his cbr 600 so thought i would take him there just to make the trip a bit longer, scared him when i showed him the videos on youtube though :) |
Hello David,
If you need a place to stay, in Belgium. I live 3km from point G. You can stay here if you want, let me know. |
I've just come back from 'C' (Nettetal) with my school! It would be OK for a stop over, perhaps, but there really isn't much there. There are some campsites, but I don't think Germany allows rough camping? Munchengladbach is a little larger / potentially more interesting, I believe.

We live in Antwerp (Belgium), have a big garage to put a few more bikes in it and are members of CS, so you can always stay with us if you want. You'll get a bed or the couch, so no need to put your tent up!
Just mail/pm me if you (or anyone else for that matter) are interested. |
skydive spa
hi, if it's only for 1 or 2 nights, you can try to put your tent at the airfield of Spa, there is a small campsite. If you are ther during the week, you can ask it nicely. It can be possible that the will let you stay there for a beer and pizza.

Hi, not checked for a while. thanks for all the offers for accommadation.
route has changed now, not going into Germany anymore as the nurburgring will not be open to public when we're over there so gonna spend more time exploring Belgium and the Netherlands, added a few more days to the trip too |

So flat that the Joint Danish-Dutch Mountain Rescue Team have very little to do, most years. With the extra time you have found, go further and try the valleys etc of Germany. |
