Carnet and insurance UK
 

I am planning to ship my GS1150 from Australia to the UK.Will I need a Carnet for the UK? Also I intend purchasing Green card insurance before leavin OZ. This will cover me for Europe, but will it cover me riding in the UK? I have heard conflicting reports, some saying that I need special motorcycle insurance in the UK. Does anyone know the requirements?

You don't need a carnet for Europe.

GC covers you for all countries that are not crossed off on the card. EU is always included. Generally, only some Eastern or N African countries are excluded. Check with the issuer if you plan to travel outside the EU.

If you find an insurance company that does international insurance let me know, i'm in the UK with my Aussie registered R65 at the moment, but can't find anyone to insure it.
