Carnet issue in the UK
 

Does anyone know who issues Carnet's in the UK now the RAC have stopped? Any advice? Thanks!

Been dealing with ADAC in Munich about a Carnet. They are very helpful, answer the phone in English. Call them up (on Skype) and they will explain everything. They even reviewed my documents in soft copy to check all was correct before I posted them.

How long does it take to get a carnet?

Just rang ADC (very helpful danke) to discover that as from 1 July 2016 there is a new UK provider of carnets.

It is Cars Europe. Go to Carnet de Passage en Douanes (CPD) - CARS. I am applying right now (15 July). If I come across anything of interest I will post it here.

How long did it take for your carnet to issued from Cars?

5 page – GBP 210.00, 10 page – GBP 225.00 or 25 page GBP 250.00. Each page represents an entry and exit from a country. Therefore, for an overland journey across Africa a 25-page document would be required.

The applicant must also provide a security amount in the form of either a non-refundable insurance indemnity or a part-refundable deposit guarantee (a percentage of the deposit guarantee will be charged to cover administration and bank fees) to cover the temporary import of the vehicle against the duties and taxes applicable.

How long does it take to receive a Carnet de Passage en Douane after application?
It takes approximately four weeks after the receipt of a correctly completed application form and all supporting documents to process a CPD application.

I'm a bit confused. The Carnet agency said in only need a carnet for the 5 of the countries I am travelling through (Asia to UK) so surely I would only need a 10 page carnet? And not for all the countries I will be visiting?
