Cheap Places to Stay in CZ
Can anyone recommend any cheap (like below 50 E for two people) bike friendly places to stay in Czech, Slovak or southern Poland.
Plus and suggested must do biking roads? Will be taking a 15 day ride in the region this coming June. Cheers |

regarding biking roads - what type of roads and sights do you prefere? It depends where and when you want to be accommodated, prices are very variable from EUR10 per person. During the summer season are almost twice higher. I agree with NaczelnyFilozof Fatra & Tatry moutains are really nice but good and nice roads are also in our country :) I can imagine to bike through mountains from the west of Bohemia, by the border with Germany and Poland to Slovakia with some trips around. if you want more write me an email with specs what you prefere what are you interested in .. see ya |

Thanks for the tip on the southern Poland roads, I will look them up. Dablyk, I send you an e-mail as suggested. Thanks to you both guys. Brett |
Hi
Not sure in Czech but you will find easily good budget accomodation there for around €20 per person. Southern Poland should be the same but the facilities tend not to be as good. Large cities like wroclaw and Krakow are worth a visit but expensive. one option will be to look up short term rent apartments in the cities. krakow is really worth a visit. Like someone else said the tatra mountains are really amazing and worth a visit. From the Polish side south of Krakow is a town called Zakopane.. worth a visit but REALLY worth a vist is a small lake on otp of the mountain called Morskie Oko. You would have to walk or take a horse cart up the last 2km but worth a look. might be a small problem find a safe place for your bike but if you look you will find easily Slovakia ( only my opinion) is a lot easier than Poland. Everything is cheaper, less people on the roads,, generally just nicer.. I have a house in a village called Stebnicka Huta which is near a town called Bardejov in the east which is available to you anytime you want, just let me know and I will let you know where to find a key Happy travels |
If you are going to be in the Detva area of Central Slovakia in the 1st week of June, let me know as I will be staying at our house near there. You are welcome for a night B&B.
There are some nice roads.Avoid the main routes as they are full of trucks and kami kazi car drivers trying to get passed them. Have a good time wherever you decide to go. Simon |
Hello Simon,
I think that it will be more like the middle of June we will be there. Thank you very much for your offer, much appreciated. Cheers Brett PS getting really excited about this trip, all that I am reading sounds really good so am sure we are going to enjoy it. Will be good to get back into Europe again. |
Gday dablyk and 5-eyes,
Sent you both e-mails, but am not sure if they went through or not, would like to follow through suggested routes roads and a place to stay in Stebnicka Huta (if possible) Cheers Brett |
HI Bret
didnt get your mail.. try gary@bluestonegroup.eu about Stebnicka Huta. It is a very very small village in the east of slovakia but I love it. It is in the north east of slovakia north of the town called Bardejov. you head north from the town ass if you are going to Poland and then in a town called Zborov take a left for poland and leftt again for Setb Huta The village is so small the road leads there and no where else. There is a lovely place to stay there called Slnecny Majer.. you cant miss it , its a hotel on the hill, the only one there and it should cost about €20 per night. stay in touch and good luck |
