Croatia

Croatia has better landscape, interesting roads with nice view, good food and not expensive, people are nice...

Italy: traffic rush on the roads, expensive hotels and food, not much landscape if you don't ride in detail. The point is: EXPENSIVE

I would prefer Croatia

There are some nice waterfalls, lakes and small towns especially near to Slovenia border.

Give a try you will not regret

I agree with Samy tho' I havent yet tried Croatia. Next time I will do because riding in Italy was horrible.

I'd agree that the landscape in Croatia is a lot nicer, but if you stick to the coast and tourist trails during the summer months, it will also be pretty expensive. The nice thing however is that you can easily take a route further inland. There's also nice scenery in Bosnia/Serbia etc with plenty of things to see, twisty mountain roads and it's cheap.

Should you speak Italian, during the summer months it won't make any difference whether you go to Italy or the Croatian coast, you'll find the same number of Italians in both places :D

Croatia islands...

We did Croatia last year, started in Pula then island hopped from Cres to Krk to Rab then onto the mainland and up to Plitvica lakes then onto Karlovac. Rab was fantastic and we found you didn't have to go far to avoid the hordes of motorhomers! We rode about 5k of the main road and found fantastic roadside restaurants selling spit roast pig at 1/2 the price it was on the tourist trail. Karlovac was quite stunning as most of the buildings still have hundreds of bullet holes in them as a stark reminder of the war. We found great campsites which were all clean and friendly, some are strictly for naturists though so check before you decide to pitch up!
Oh I almost forgot to mention there is a easy ferry service between the islands which was reasonable and reliable, enjoy, we loved it!

I love Italy but Croatia..

I love Italy but Croatia as others have said is just as beautiful, less people ( cars, motorhomes, caravans), cheaper and the people are just as nice.

We drove up the Italian coast and round, down the Croatian coast. It was stunning. :thumbup1:
