Cycle path along the River Trent?
Does anyone who is familiar with that part of Northern England know if there is a cycle path along some or all of the River Trent? I am thinking particularly of the section between Keadby and Long Eaton. I am planning a circular cycle ride along the canals starting and finishing in Long Eaton and would like to follow the waterways the whole way if possible. I have Googled it and the results are a little vague, I am sure there is path for at least some of it.

No problem Mark, happy to help.
One place I didn’t get a chance to do earlier is to get in contact with local authorities - I know that Derby and Wolverhampton (if you end up in Wolverhampton you have seriously gone wrong on your trip!) published cycling maps detailing off road cycle routes and especially along canal footpaths. There are certainly cycle routes along the River Derwent between Derby and Shardlow (quite close to Long Eaton) but there is not too much north of the Derby suburbs that I know of - but I could be wrong. |
