Europe in 2014
 

I'm looking to go in to Europe next year. May or June or both. Looking at France Spain and Portugal. Any one interested is sharing the cost's of hotel's.

I'm booked in for surgery at the hospital soon. Once that's done and I get the all clear. I'll have a better idea of what I'm going to do.

May / June is a nice time of year to go. How long you thinking of going for?

Really as long as the money last. Could be six weeks, or round that kind of time. I can book a flat in Portugal, the price is lower the longer I stay. 4 week's get's me the top discount. Two can share it easily.

I am planning to come over from Canada in May and ride for 6 to 8 weeks
I will start in Ireland. My daughter graduates from City University London the end of June so will have to be back in London by then.

Need to visit other riders in Spain and Belgium that I met here in Canada but have a wide open schedule. Sharing of costs is important, most of my Moto travel has been in Mexico where hotels average 25.00, I assume that will not happen in Europe.

If you want to come along with me. I'm open.
I can show you the rope's on the way. As have done a few before. Usually with these thing's I arrange a local meet some place in a café, get breakfast chew the fat, that kind of thing. But I can see that's not going to be possible.

If you are definitely coming over. I'll make all the booking near the time. So all you have to do is ride your bike. Let me get my hospital thing out the way. Said I would be done by Christmas. Let's see.

Hotel in Europe are about 40/50 Euro's per night two sharing. So that's 20/25 each.

The proposed time of year is too busy for me, but if you can say any more about this longish term rental of property that would be useful to me: such as where it is, broad idea about pricing and whatever else you know about it - a website link for instance?
I'm thinking about the winter.

It's not a web site. One of those thing that I know. Have known the chap for a little while and the people who run the complex. I go twice a year. Once in the spring and again in the autumn. It's in the south of Portugal. See map.

I go out twice a year. Once in the Spring and once in the Autumn. The Spring time is for me and the bike. The Autumn is for Bridget and my self. I could introduce you to the man. I have no idea if you will get the same deal as me. As I've been going a few time's now. May, June is a good time. As the weather is good, going, there, and coming back. Like the sun you see. Apart from that. I can't see how I can help you any more.

Back home now from Hospital. Just now waiting for the winter months to heal me up. And I should be back on the road in the Spring time.

Been thinking along the line of May-June, six weeks, ride from where ever I ship moto, was thinking Germany, then south more or less to Morocco. End up somewhere I can store moto till I can return, maybe Italy.

Would be interested in traveling along with you where our paths may match. I think my wife will join me on this run.

Just starting to try to put a plan together so am very interested in any ideas.

I am trying to think how we can match our plans up. I book a few week stay on a complex in Portugal out side Faro. It has a strong bike park. And a few good word's could get you either free storage or next to nothing. Follow me down to Faro stay a week. Then do the next bit of your travel's. While you are there. We can ask about long term storage. Once you are done. Ride back to Faro. park the bike up. The last I knew it was 40 euros taxi ride to the air port. So if you are thinking of flying back. Faro could be your place. Re reading your post. Why travel all the way in to Germany? Look at Brest in France. A good place to start. And I should think the transportation cost's are going to be less. But it's early day's.

Well it's moved on a bit from last time. The date look like the last week in May and the first two week in June. But that movable by a few day's as I have to book a flight out for Bridget. And the air line company's are not taking booking that far in advance. But there look's like there could be a flight on the 27th of May. A Tuesday. So it looking like I will be booking the flat from the 25 May until the 18 June. If that's the case I will be leaving on the 21 of May out of Dover. Catching the 7.30 am crossing after staying the night in Dover

Set out across Europe
 

I Am planning on setting out from Uk to calais and head down to south of spain but there isn't a concrete plan. set off in first week of june and spend a week in france before heading down to spain, am looking for advice and maybe someone to tag along with for fun and benefit of others experience.

If you want to leave on the 14 of May. It will fit in with my booking day's and I can take longer to make my way to southern Spain. I have to be in Portugal round about the last week in May at the latest. So leavening on the 14 I can also have a week traveling down.
