Germany, Czech Rep, Poland.
 

Hi All,
I'm leaving the UK on Monday 4 Aug and heading for Auschwitz. My route will be first night somewhere near the Mosel, Cochem or Koblenz area, then accross towards Bayreuth before crossing into Czech and through Karlovy Vary, Most & Liberec. I will be stopping in Oswiecim for Thursday & Friday night, before heading south into Slovakia on Saturday, then accross to Austria.

If anyone is around, going my way, or lives on this route and wants to share a beer, that would be cool.

I'm doing the same three countries starting the following day,Tuesday 5th but, sadly, not by bike. It's a family trip and we're flying, training and busing, firstly to Berlin, then to Katowice area (including Auschwitz) and finally Prague.

I've no idea how this is going to go as planning responsibility has shifted down a generation and, inspired by industrial practice, to a "just in time" approach. All I have to do is turn up. :rolleyes2:

What direction are you headed mate ?? I Will be in Germany on Monday eve/ Tues. Not going to be in Austria till the following Monday I think.

Will be in Austria 10th or 11th having left uk 8th heading East to pick up my wife in Istanbul on evening of 15th. Heading East from there....

WOW ! :w00t: Not sure if I could cope with that, every ANB ( Adventure-Non-Believers ) I've ever travelled with cocks up with something quite fundamental, that I usually have to sort out. Maybe I'm just not picking the right people?? :innocent:

Plan to head to Auschwitz too, but probably a day or two before you. Right now I am in Tallinn, Estonia and plan to take it slowly through the baltic countries and then Poland around 4-5th of august. Will head further south after Audchwitz and Poland...

Snakeboy, I will arrive in Oswiecim on Thursday 7, and will visit the camps on 8th. I will leave Oswiecim on Saturday 9th. Maybe see you out there.

A little to late for me unfortunately. I will probably visit the camps the 5th or the 6th. Have to meet up with some other guys the 7th a little more south....
