Germany in June
Hi
Does anybody know of any places in the Sashen, Anhalt and Thuringen areas of Germany that are worth visiting, any suggestions much appreciated Regards Gaz |
Passed through the Thuringa Wald (forest) a couple of years ago returning from Poland.
It's worth going to the Czech Republic as it borders Thuringa & Saxony if you're going that far. I found that prices for accomodation etc were slightly cheaper than Bavaria etc & quite good value. Good Trip. Steve |
Thanks Steve
Going to Poland first Gdynia,Krakow Zakopane, maybe into Slovakia before heading back through Germany. My girlfriend is half Polish so we are going to see her relitives first then have a good look round. Are you going to UK HU meet if so see you there for a few beers regards Gaz |
Did a similar route a couple of years ago. My g/f is German, stopped off at her place in Hamburg for a while, then on to her parents in Berlin, into Poland via Gorlitz to Karpach & on to Wroclaw, where her top box was broken in to - avaoid the crappy mosquito infested campsite next to the river at all costs. On to Krakow, good campsite to the north west of the city centre. The underground salt mine at Wieliczka, a few miles south east of Krakow is also worth a visit if you have the time.
Came back through n/w Slovakia & crossed in to Czech via Makov in Slovakia. On to Prague on small roads, on to Karlsbad & back through the Thuringa Wald to Kassel to visit more friends before heading home. Excellent journey. When & where is the UK HU meeting? Steve |
