Moto transport/storage from Switzerland
 

Hello riders,

A friend of mine and I are on a motorcycle trip around Europe. He's unable to continue on motorcycle due to an ankle injury on the way to Grindelwald, Switzerland. We were able to limp slowy into Grindelwald with the moto. We're now trying to figure out how to transport his motorcycle to some location where it could be stored until we can make longer term arrangements. The semi-permanent home for the moto has been at Stefan Knopf's in Heidelberg so that is one possible destination. Does anyone know of good (hopefully inexpensive) options for transporting and storage in and around Switzerland/Interlaken?

Hi,

I could bring the bike to Heidelberg in August if you pay petrol and vignette for car & trailor (or train ticket down and riding the bike up if its not bronekas well). Dont have a garage onely could offer to stor the bike in my garden in Stuttgart and put a plastic ofer it. The problem will be the paperwork...i would neet Power of authority at least. In with country is the bike registered?

Thanks Tobi. The accommodating owners of the campsite in Grindelwald offered to store the bike for a couple weeks so I may need to look for an option of hauling it sooner. I really appreciate your help and may need to take you up on your offer.

Yes, I contacted the Swiss/Berne HU community and got a lot of very helpful response.

Thanks for your help regarding storage in Italy. I'll let you know if I can't find a closer/easier option.
