Motorcycle + gear storage: N Greece, SE Bulgaria / Istanbul
 

Hi all, as I've heard storage of motorcycles in Turkey and leaving the country without the bike for long periods of time isn't easy.

Therefore I'd be looking for safe and secure place to store my bike and some gear in Northern Greece or South Eastern Bulgaria - any leads on that?

I'd need to park it for approx 2.5 months starting about next week (17th June 2018).

Okay I'll look for it. Is it really so bad with Turkish customs? Can't I just enter Istanbul thru Edirne from Bulgaria, leave the bike in IST for 2.5 mo And come back and continue my trip?

Yes it is so bad with Turkish customs. The bike reg will be entered into your passport when entering Turkey. You won't be able to leave the country without it unless you park the vehicle in a customs compound and pay the daily rate for storage and the necessary paperwork. We had a number of guests in Turkey wishing to do what you want to do. They ended up parking their bikes up at the Motocamp in Bulgaria.

Storing the bike in Turkey customs can maybe be a short term solution if the price is good and conditions where the bike will be kept are acceptable.
