Need info south poland, southwest ukraine, slowakia
Hello together,
we are planing a 2 weeks trip from vienna through slovakia, southern poland to the south western ukraine and back through romania and hungary to vienna. Well what i am looking for is accommodation info for two bikers:thumbup1: as well as infos about must-see-places along our route:Beach:. (In cause there are very nice off-road-routes, let me also know, we will be on the road with 1 750 XTZ Tenere and 1x BMW R1200 GS Adv. and both are used to ride gravel:scooter: or even worse :-), so those tipps are :welcome: too! I know, two weeks are not much time, but there is not more left. We will go on our trip from middle to end of august. Would be happy to receive any helpful info:clap:. Thanks in advance! burnout1 |
Hi
If you are passing through Slovakia, what towns will you be passing through, I live in Slovakia so let me know and I will be able to tell you where to stay, do you want B&B or are you camping?? also just to let you know if you are considering riding off road in Slovakia, FORGET!! a law was passed last year stopping all motorized vehicle from going into woods or the mountain trails, if the police catch you its a fine the first time and prison the second time. Hello Julie,
thansk for the info. Well it will most probably be the northern part of slovakia. Since we will come from vienna and enter CZ-republic first, we will not make long tours in slovakia. Afterwards we hed to poland and from there to the ukraine. We will use B+B or alike (we wont habe a tent with us). Thanks in advance for your help! burnout1 |
Hi ya
Ok, B&B are called Pensions out here, and there are lots of them. any idea what Town you want to spend the night in, as I have a very good book here telling where the best pensions are. if you can give me an idea I can get you names and numbers so you could book in advance Regards Julie |
Kamenets-Podolski in SW Urkraine a very nice town, although you have to go to the old town, which is a little ways off the highway. Very cool castle, etc. My only complaint is that when I was there some god-awful stench permeated the entire old town.

Poland-Ukraine section
google 2 towns: Kłodzko and Zakopane... depending on what looks better for your itinerary, I can get on it... there are 4 main border crossings into Ukraine on the southern side (South to north - Krościenko-Chyrow, Medyka-Szeginie, Korczowa-Krakowiec, Hrebenne-Rawa Ruska)... heard some negatives about Medyka... still waiting for some responses on info requests and can forward/post info when I get it...
I'm in Wrocław, Poland... should that be on the radar Just an aside; my wife speaks Ukrainian (grandparents are from L'viv) and I'm trying to make some connections in Ukraine to set up some routes for AdvRiders... this isn't commercial but, can make contact with the locals and show them some of the potential economic advantages for them (the rules over there are a bit of an open book, particularly in the boonies, and that's a good thing.. for everybody...if you catch my "drift" ;-) Q: What's a good average gravel ride for you (distance per day, how many days, camping in between or local hospitality, etc.) no need to get too specific... just collecting opinions right now... it's not for my pocket, it's more for the locals... and me to play :mchappy: |
Hi, if you are in Romania you must try the Transalpina before it gets tarmaced over. There is accomadation in Vionessa near lake Vidra. An excellent place in Hungary is 'the biker camp,Route66' they have rooms as well as a campsite. Andy B
