Noisy bikes a problem in Scandinavia?
I don't like to make noise, but the original exhausts on our DR650s had to make room for the pannier racks. So now we have aftermarket pots and they make a fair racket.
Can we expect problems in Scandinavia? Further South and in Asia I think we'll get away with it. ------------------ Salut from Southern France, the bikers' paradise, Peter. |
Nah, you'll fare just fine. At least in Norway. I have heard that the police on very, very rare occasions have had roadside noise controls on bikes over here. But I have never seen one, much less being checked, myself during my 13 years riding around in Norway. BTW: I have a set of X3 Leo Vinci cans on my Varadero. Pretty much open all the way. Boy, that sound is awesome!
I know Germans are a bit jumpy about noisy bikes, though. |
My KTM had VERY LOUD pipes on it when I travelled through scandanavia and although I passed at least 20 YES 20 speed trap set ups and was followed by a police biker for about 10 miles the pipes were never a problem.speeding is however a really big no no. even if farms ,houses are some way off be wary of speed restrictions and speed traps in the most remote areas.
