Oslo to Stavanger
Hello all, a friend and I are having a trip up from Denmark via Sweden and possibly Finland. Then back from Stockholm via Oslo to Stavanger where we'll catch the ferry back to Newcastle. Question is, how long will it take to get from Oslo to Stavanger so we dont miss the ferry at 16:00hrs? we'd like to ride a more scenic route if there is one, if we have time.
Cheers all. Paul. |
Best route from oslo is probably the inland route
oslo-drammen-kongsberg-notodden-dalen-valle-suleskar (nows the time for a quick detour to lysebotn fjord)-stavanger if you flog the throttle you can do it in 6 hours, detour to the lysebotn add 2 hours |
Thanks for that, I'll be on my 955 Triumph Sprint and my mate on his R6, so throttles not a problem, but we would like to try and see a little of Norway's lovely scenery on the way across. I think we may try and push from Stockholm as far as we can before setting camp and leave ourselves a little more time to do the detour you sugest on the last day. Cheers, Paul.

Well, perhaps a more scenic route would be to keep to the north out of Oslo, Drammen, Kongsberg, Vinje, E134 ), At Roldalsvatnet join the E13 south through Litlehamer etc, essentially, the E13 runs you right into Stavanger,
Your looking at 9 hours, but well, well worth it.The run south down the E13 is unbelievable. Real twistbacks at Bergjorda & Hjorteland |
I have to agree with Laromonster: He's outlining a classic, extremely scenic route. The Suleskar road is something you'll never forget. As are the Lysebotn twisties. Have fun!
