Picos De Europa May 2013
Hello, I'm new to this site and thought it would be a good place to get some help and advice on good motorcycle routes in and around the Picos De Europa, the plan is for a small group of riders to travel by ferry from the UK to Santander and stay in the area already mentioned, duration of stay to be around 5 to 7 days.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Glenn |
Hi, stayed in Picos de. Europe in the summer, excellent campsite (withWiFi), a few hostels. Excellent easy trail ride from south to north. If u enjoy hill walking take ur boots. Roads around the area are excellent with road surfaces that we can only dream about in the UK. Andy

This may be of interest if you ride an older bike (pre 1995)

Hi Andysr6,
That trail looks good, just out of interest do you have any information regarding we're the trail starts and the route it takes ? Many Thanks Glenn (gteps) |
Hi Glen, trail is from Espinama to Las Arenas, route is clearly shown in Google maps. The start in Espinama is not obvious, look for an archway, it's a very small village. Andy

Be carefull, Picos de Europa is a National Reserve Park, the motor vehicle circulation is prohibited in certain zones. You can find tracks an routes in this link picos de europa - Wikiloc: Search Sorry for my bad English. regards |
Thank you very much to all who have taken the time to reply to my request for route information
One more little problem :helpsmilie: and forgive my lack of understanding, I have checked out the site mentioned and it looks very good indeed, I'm not sure but is there a way of translating it into English as I'm unsure of exactly how to use it :oops2: Many Thanks Glenn |
:thumbup1: Not as stupid as I first thought, I have managed to find the English version

Hi,
Some interesting points cropping up on the topic. The Picos area is stunning and your main problem will be turing round and heading back to your base each night! For a few ideas around the Picos de Europa take a look at my day trip here. The National Parl authorities prohibit vehicle access to virtually all of it's territory, but the region, Cantabria, is one of the most liberal of all Spa9n's regions when it comes to allowing trail riding - you'll also find a detailed explanation of all this on my blog. Cheers Simon |
