Prague trip
Hi there. I am trying to find the church near Prague that is decorated with human remains. I remember seeing it on the Long Way round series on the telly last year. I didn't get the town's name. But i do remember it was said to be approx 70 East of Prague. If anyone can shed some light on this, is would be great, as i now find myself in Prague this coming August.
Thankyou in advance, Nick. |

church
Hi there,
it is called KUTNA HORA, they used to extract silver from the local mine and make coins with it. |
I toured to the Czech republic visiting the church of bones and on to Bojnice in Slovakia last year. My partner joined me in Slovakia the attached blog is a record of the trip. It was a great experience.

That church in Kutna Hora is terrific! Kutna Hora town is included in UNESCO register for historical centre of the town, together with the Church of Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Sedlec and the St. Barbara´s Cathedral. This town was the silver heart of Medieval Europe, one of the most important royal towns with silver mining competed with Prague economically, politically and culturally at that time and now also there is competition between hotel Prague and Kutna Hora hotels. Sedlec’s Church “Kostnice” is the most impressive view of 40,000 dead form morbidly fascinating sculptures and artwork; skeletons meticulously fashioned in 1870 by a wood carver.

Seeing human sceleton or bones doesn't attracts me at all. When I visited I didn't want to see the place. Sure it is interesting. But I didn't want to see.
I want to ask, does it worth to see there, really? |
