I am going to do a tour on my ZX12R.
I will be going to Tallinn, I would
like to run over to St Petersburg for a few
days but I wonder if its worth the hassle, visas, pre-booked hotels, insurance, ect.
Has anyone ridden from St Petersburg to Riga ?.
I am well used to bad roads living in the west of Ireland.

riga to talinn to st petersburg was fine, roads are ok, went up to 150 km/h
no problem at the borders with the officials

Hi Vincent, nice to know you made it but not much in the way of info, did you get the Russian visa before you left your home country or enroute? How much was it? Did you organise it yourself or get a travel agency to do this? Did you have to pre book accomadation and how much was it?

with those papers you go to any russian embassy, my 1 month tourist visa cost 50 usd (french citizen)

russian people were extremely nice, friendly and helpful with me, thanks to them

i mainly followed the transsiberian and also went in the altai and tuva regions
