Scenic drives near Oslo
Hello,
I am here in Oslo, and I am looking for scenic drives not too far away. Perhaps up to 100km from Oslo. Looking on other Norway websites, all the scenic routes seem to be 100's of km away. I have been up Holmenkollen, and the views of Oslo Fjord are fantastic. What other driving can be suggested to pass away a Sunday. |
Is Oslo and surrounds really such a boring place?:stormy:

It's been a while, but ViaMichelin: Maps, route planner, route finder, UK maps, European maps, hotel booking, travel guides shows a nice--any "green" route--roundtrip ride:
NW from Oslo, Honefoss->Gol, 135 km; W from Gol->Geilo, 53 km; S from Geiolo->Kongsberg, 163 km |
To the SE in the town of Drammen is a lookout point that looks over the town. Nothing spectaular but the road to it is! It does 6 complete revolutions in a spiral INSIDE the mountain. It's called Spiraltoppen and there are directional signs in town to it. It's like climbing a giant corkscrew in the dark!
And to the west and just north of the town of Flam is the longest tunnel in the world, 24.5 km. |
