Poland's Baltic Coast
I wouldn't go down to Warsaw but I'd stick closer to the baltic Coastline. I'd try Gizycko, Ketryzn (the Wolf's lair), Elblag, Malbork, Gdansk, Hel peninsula and Swinoujscie.

Hi Wookie, how's things?
I'm at the early stages of planning a trip for this summer. Thinking about a similar route, although I might take the ferry Travemunde - Helsinki to cut down on the miles. The X-challenge has a big tank and re-upholstered seat now, but no point in wearing myself out on the autobahn. The initial idea is for around 2 weeks, hopefully with some off-road riding somewhere on the journey, on a low budget so wild camping may well be included. Any advice/poi etc gratefully accepted. |
we will be riding two up on my wee strom round the Baltic in June, riding into Poland first & then heading north into Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia & then into St Petersburg for a few days before heading across to Finland, Sweden & Denmark. We will keep an eye out for you as our paths may well cross by the sound of it. This is my first time this far north into Europe so I am unable to offer any advice yet:innocent:

re Baltic/Scandinavia ride
I did a similar trip a couple of years ago in July but went round clockwise. Norway was the highlight of the whole deal by a long way....but it can be quite soggy at times so dont forget to pack the waterproofs. If you are a drinker or a speed merchant, Norway could be hard on the wallet though.
If you are interested, I wrote a blog along the way (Ride North) The Baltic states are great for R&R with good beer but nutty drivers. Enjoy |
