Three Day Tour Germany, Luxemberg, etc
Hi,
I'm an englishman who lives in Portugal and enjoys riding to Morocco but find myself stuck in Rotterdam for a long weekend. Looking at a three day ride on an F700 starting tomorrow evening heading south to Spa, Eifel maybe down to Freiberg and Black Forest. Can anyone suggest a route, interesting things to see, great roads to ride, cheap places to stay? I am clueless so any help much appreciated Thank you Iain |
Eifel National Park is great. The L166 leading down to Rursee and the village is superb. Watch out for the lakewater - even if it's sunny and hot, it will be... bracing. :D I still swam in it in early June, but only because I am used to the Baltic.
Other things in the area: * Geierlay suspension bridge * Eltz Castle just north of it (haven't been, marked for a future trip) * Nürburgring, obviously * Aachen - has a cheap hostel with secure parking in the center, amazing architecture both in the historic center and in the university area * The Triple Border Point between Netherlands, Belgium and Germany (learn why the road leading to it is called the Four Border Road!). Also, if you need to get any new riding gear, the FC-Moto warehouse is just outside of Aachen, they have an attached showroom where you can basically try and buy anything in their catalog. |
Can thoroughly recommend Belgium. After last years HUBB UK I found myself over their riding part of "Route des legends". Quiet twisty roads through amazing scenery.
Did a post about it here https://www.cb500x.com/index.php/top....html#msg70591 Also found this https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showth...endes-Ardennes |
