Tyre buying in spain and portugal.
A quick question,
Where is cheaper generally for buying tyres? Spain or Protugal? I´ve nearly run out of tread on my rear and these roads are eating the rest like a kid locked in a sweet shop. I´m heading south through portugal for the next few days - inland if anyone knows of a good place to buy them.. Ewano. |
I bought a new set of tires for my Honda PanEuropean (ST1100) from the big Honda dealer in Braganca, Portugal two summers ago - the price was very low, about half what I would have paid in Switzerland. Labour was cheap, too. Absolutly first class workmanship. I can't remember the name of the dealer, but it is the only big Honda dealer in downtown Braganca. The workshop is on the lower level (basement level) of the building -they take your moto up and down by elevator.
Hope that helps, Michael |
Just bought another set of tires in Portugal two days ago - very good prices for the tires, excellent workmanship, €17 an hour for the shop labour in a fully equipped shop.
My recommendation - Portugal, for sure. If you can, try to phone the shop a few days ahead, in case they need to order the tires in. Michael |
I got some tires in Coimbra at the honda dealer there. Nice people and good quality work. I got a Bridgestone Trailwing 42 fitted and balanced, with some lubing of cables and footrests etc plus some basic checks for the major mechanicals for approx 80 euros..
Can recomend the honda dealer in Coimbra. |
