Venice Parking
We are heading for a trip around north Balkans and Austria, there is a one night stop in Venice where we are going to park our bikes.
I saw (and a few other bikers suggested) San Marco Garage, just curious if there are any other options around that area. |
San Marco Garage is probably the easiest place, but you do pay for it. Then to be fair everything is quite costly in Venice. You will be instructed by the front guy to go to level, where you will met by a guy who will show you where to park, usually in a corner with other bikes. The only issue we found was when we returned back to the parking our bike was blocked in by 4 others so we had to move them to get ours out. Not easy with steering locks etc!!!!!

Do you have an address for the garage?
We are currently travelling through Europe and will be in Venice soon (trip report Kiwi Dreams - Europe & Morocco 2014 - ADVrider) Kiwi Mike |
Very easy to find just stay on SS11 as you come off the causeway keep on the main carriageway at the roundabout look to the right for the sign, its a multi-story.
Garage San Marco S.p.a. Piazzale Roma 467/F - 30135 VENEZIA |
Visiting Venice by vehicle (of any kind) is generally a nightmare in my experience. Hence I'd advise to stay in Jesolo, on the peninsula south of Venice. Accomodation is much cheaper than in Venice itself, theres plenty of free, secure parking. From Jesolo you can take a boat to Venice that lands directly at the San marco Square, and is a great way to start your visit, nice views from the boat onto Venice etc.

i dont know how paranoid you are regarding the security of your bike,if you must park it under a roof with lock an key then what i done will be of no use to you, if you decide to cross the via liberta bridge with the bike, just reaching the main island of venice,on the right visable from the road is a motorcycle parking facility, gps 45.441186,12.315185
parking around the main island is a battle your going to lose, strict regultions are enforced, but i used this parking site for 3 days with no problems,my hotel was on the mainland so i would transit between the two without hastle, then a short walk into the centre of venice, enjoy |
I think the key thing is get there early. We had no problems. Others had a terrible time who came later
