Venice to Vienna route
 

Anyone got any great bike route suggestions?

Take highway from Venice to Vrtojba-Nova Gorica (Slovenia) then through river Soča valley up north to Bovec and over Vršič pass to Kranjska gora and enter Austria.I don't know for austrian part.Good luck

Lots of options, and I have to agree that the previous post is a good suggestion. The Soca valley is spectacular.

However as an alternative you should not forget the fantastic Dolomites - head north from Venice toward Cortina then you have Alps all the way. So many fantastic roads...
