Good day everyone, new here, just registered. Couple hoars ago i bought a iveco dally 40-10 4x4. I was a little disappointed with the small speed which achieved the highway. 90km/h with 3000rpm and was very noisy My question to you is?
Is this normal speed of that vehicle civil version, or it's have slow differentials ? i want to make a camper conversion on it and need to be a litlle be faster.
Тhank you in advance for answers

It is a commercial vehicle , it may have a speed limiter , as many vehicles in EU require by law that is set at 90kmh . It will quite possibly have low speed diffs as well , particularly if it does not have a 2 speed transfer gearbox , does it have a second lever in cab ?

We drove an ex-military version around South America for 6 months and it would cruise at 100 OK.

There is a group in the UK you might find useful

you can get technical info there as well

I had one of this Iveco 40-10 4WD with 2.5td engine and my cruise speed was 90-95km/h. Noise? It depends on your daily car. If it is a modern one, the Iveco is very noise. If you drive an old car, it's not so much... ;-)

You can put some acoustic isolation. Take a look on the internet and you will find different products (paint, foams, carpets...). And you can put bigger tires too. Finally, I know there is differents gearbox with differents gear ratios. Maybe yours is a low one... I'm sure in an Iveco workshop you can achive more info with the van VIN number.

hi,
it seems like you´re having the original 235-85-16 tyres on...
get some 255-100-16, get them fit in the body, you´ll be surprised!
also an intercooler helps a lot. you can get one from the 4x2 version for example 49-12 daily.
cheers

Hi dogito66, i just see your post. 255-100-16 are hard to find and expensive. i thinking about 255-85-16 its more regular and not hard to find.
