UPdate on estart

1. All parts are off the shelf Honda. That is the law with me.

2. I was undecided about fitting a 650L crank versus making an adapter. The adapter will win out because Honda in their wisdom changed too many of the internals to make the thing work.

3. I do not want to stuff with my genuine HRC engine. Putting L model parts in my HRC 628 is just plain stupid IMO.

4. Electrical system will feature a special rewound stator with dual capacities.

5. Battery will be a 5 series battery.

6. I would estimate 3 months and the thing will be running.

I intend to market these kits in various forms.

Can anyone indicate the level of interest that would be around for such a kit?

Thanks

Progress..

Fitting up the new estart now.

Ended up buying a new XL600rmg crankshaft so engine will be pulled down and new crankshaft installed.

Also fitting a 41mm FCR and a probbaly CRF450 entire front end. USDs rule.

Any updates on this project?

Update

Estart fitted and firing!!!

One week ago it all worked - within 1/2 of a second the bike is fired off the Gen Honda Estart.

Fitted up the CRF 450R front end.

All we need to do now is fit the Keihin 41mFCRMX carby which should make the bike really open up.

Hi new on here its my first post so here goes,

Trying to contact xr6steve from above post but not allowed as havn't posted enough replies yet:(
I just wondered if anyone has more info on changing the xr600 to elec start I'm having problems locating parts so wondered if anyone has made an adaptor plate to the crankshaft.
Also does anyone have any other pictures of the estart modifications.

Nicely modified though rmhrc628 good to see someone try something different.

Would the parts of NX Dominator fit on the XR 600?
