Have a look on XRV.or.uk I am a regular there and this question gets asked a lot. The answer is always the same - no known problems, no real need to modify it, and look for a nice clean well maintained bike from an elderly gent who only uses it on sunny weekends. Honestly they are great bikes. |
transalps engines are fairly robust, but check oil consumption.
Rear wheels rot really badly, The reg/recs get too hot, heatsink them if you can, some even go for fan cooling using a computer fan. The rear shock goes ropey, quite quickly (universal problem) I have a really old, abused ta600/650 sidecar outfit, and as Brighty will confirm, They can go on interminably. |
Honda TA
No known problems except for the CDI unit. Just google or Yahoo for it, you will come up with lots of information.
I own a 400ccm Honda TA model 1992 (Japanese market) and tell ya - going strong. I exchanged the fork springs (got some Wirth which are stiffer) and that's all. |
