Honda NX 650 Dominator removing power restriction

8 Attachment(s)
After quite time I finally manage to track and remove power restriction on my NX 650. It was really hard to find info about this so I'm sharing my experience it in order to help others with same problem ;)

0. Honda sold Dominator in Europe in two version 25kw and 35kw depending on country regulations.

1. You can track down restricted bikes by frame and engine numbers

Attachment 18421

2. If you are on list check carb insulator (rubber between carburator and cylinder), radius should be noticeable smaller on the end near cylinder.

(full power)

You can buy new open insulator or try to cut and expand hole in old, this can give you good result but its hard to get factory venturi tube.

NOTE: RD02 and RD08 carb insulators are not interchangeable

Attachment 18419

3. First Dominators were equipped with 50 pilot jet and 155 main jet, later Honda reduced jets to 48 pilot and 148 / 150 main jet due to ecological restrictions.

3a. On Switzerland models main jet needle and calibrator have different serial no but i can't confirm if this is part of restriction because Honda discontinued production of this part

3b. I'we also notice different in compression spring length in version RD02 (shorter) / RD08 (longer)

4. Restricted version have 46 rear sprocket while full have 47
