I'm back - C90

Hi folks, I'm back! Lots of dramas over the last few months... Bought + Sold a dodgy Suzuki RGV Moved flats twice 3 girlfriends + 1 x fiance Changed jobs twice And a few other things too Oh and moved country too, now back in Scotland More importantly i'm back on my Honda C90 :D Which i love to bits!!! Anyway The C90 was stolen a few weeks ago, so now i have built up the cash to fix it i have a few questions...??? 1) Where can i get metal / touratech style panniers? Looking to bolt some to the side mounts of the rear luggage rack 2) Where can i get ahold of a front basket for the C90? 3) Anyone know of any North East of Scotland C90 or Honda Owners Club? Good to be back folks. Planning a trip to Aviemore, for some snowboarding soon.... Matt |

Why not have a go at making your own. I found that most off the shelf stuff was too big for our bike, not to mention super expensive, so I made my own pannier boxes, support frame, extra tank, tank pannier bags and front rack. A rack on the front is better IMO than a basket as it is able to carry things of all sizes. Good luck. All info on our bilingual blog, look in the bike prep category. Nathan and Aki |
front baskets are easily available from ebay sellers, as are single seat conversions. for rear racks, homemade maybe the way to go.

new c90's have all gone, Occasionally a minter turns up, and these can fetch silly prices (over £1000 on evil-bay). A very good late model one will fetch 500-1000. As far as I am aware there are no brit fuel injected honda c90's, although the innova, is a modern incarnation that does. Unfortunately for the humble c90, there are 4 classes of people who own them, 1) Enthusiasts who have mint/restored ones and never sell them, 2) Enthusiasts who ride them into the ground (ahem:innocent:) 3) Despatchers and guys doing the knowledge who ride them into the ground, (then try to sell them on ebay for a fortune) 4) Racers, who quite literally ride them into the ground. http://www.scarabis.com/Photos/Witte...4.8.7-9727.jpg good luck, buyer beware |

Are these still on sale in the UK? No, Honda now has various C90 based machines all of which lack the romance and Va Va Voom of old school Cubs. Monkeybikes have attempted however to make a Cub 14 Replica, check there website for details... How much would a 2006, very low mileage, "Japanese" model be worth? Pending condition i would say between 700 and 900... But thats a very very very rough guess. I was looking at a mint condition 1970s C50 for 1000 a week or 2 ago... Would there be any issues with registering this bike in the UK with respect to European emissions standards etc.? C90s are no longer in production so i am going to guess no. However i believe alot of the newer clones have fuel injection. If you ask me its better to keep things simple, and avoid electronic fuel injection. Its another thing ( possibly expensive ) to go wrong... HTH |

Are they worth that much in the UK?
I just sold my original, vgc, 70's C50 Cub for $225 and I was happy! Old school Cubs are getting a renaissance here because the youth find them very cool! Hard worked Cubs are about $100. I should get into the import/export business! My Honda Wave cost $100 and is a beauty. You can still buy the last generation Cub (one that looks like a Cub and has electric start) for about $800 plus taxes new. A top of the range EFI Future Neo is about $1500. Ah, I remember now why I left the UK! :thumbdown: |
