Is this an XR200? Or close enough?
I've been trying to get info on my Honda CTX200 (farm bike) here in South Africa, with remarkably little luck. I think it's only sold here, Oz, NZ and maybe Brasil and neighbors.
Anyway, someone elsewhere told me this might be the same (as far as maintenance, specs like valve clearance, etc.) as an XR 200. ANy thoughts? Here's a pic and some specs on the South African Honda page: http://www.honda.co.za/viewdocument.asp?id=18 |
Hi there,
I really like the look of that bike you have, but I can tell you that it is not an XR200 engine as they have a 65.5mm bore and 57.8mm stroke, no electric start and a lot more power 19 BHP at 9000 RPM. I should think your bike is made for long term reliability and less maintenance, the XR200 was a bored out and tuned XL185 engine for Enduros and other competetions. I have a 1980 twinshock XR200 and it says on the chassis plate competetion machine. Sorry if that dissapoints you but maintenance is important as you know. Regards Ian. |

Look for Trailrider on the Wild Dog forum. He also has a Bushlander and has done some research about the bike vs. XR200.
Can't you get an original workshop manual from Honda? Should be no problem if it's an officially imported model. |
Honda XR
Not sure if you are interested but my Honda XR baja 250 is up for sale, I am currently in South Africa.
