Stolen AT
Hi,
Some motherless, fatherless scumbags have stolen my beloved Africa Twin:cursing:!!! She took me RTW 2 years ago and was therefore more than just a bike to me,I'm sure anyone who has travelled extensively with one bike will see where I'm coming from. Though I hold out little hope of being re-united with her, I'm posting a few details should anyone spot her. 2002 RD07 Red, White&Blue Reg. No OY 52 GFK Engine no. RD04E2916450 Chassis no. JH2RD07A9YM416375 Mileage 46,000 miles Metal mule pannier rack(They didn't get the panniers!) Metal mule rear carrier Motech Engine bars It also has a Michelin T66 rear tyre fitted which is unusual coz these are not available now in the UK. If any of you spot it please get in touch either thru this forum or phone me on 01562 742649. Many thanks. Derek. |
Crap news mate, same thing happened to my DR650 which they totally fecked up. You might be luckier though if it's too big for them to handle.
Where/when was it stolen (couldn't see the location mentioned)? |
These thieving rats make me sick. I hope we will all keep an eye open for dodgy spare parts. It could be any of us next time.
My insurance broker told me that ATs were in their top list of desirable bikes to steal - so watch out for yourself and for Delboy. I've heard that AT engines are shipped to the US (for Bros conversions) so any of you HU guys over there - please look for the numbers above. Let's get these rats... |
Got her back!!
Hi,
Well, a Christmas miracle occured and I've been re-united with my bike:clap::clap:! Apparently the scumbags couldn't get her started and abandoned her on some waste ground. Apart from wrecked ignition barrel there was Zero damage:thumbup1:! I'm so f:censored:ing chuffed!! Hope you all have a Happy New Year, I know I will:funmeteryes:!!! Regards Derek. |

Nice one...what a result. :thumbup1: down our way anything that gets abandoned gets burnt out :( |
i bought the last new AT in singapore back in 2005. its a virgin.
it was stolen 2 months before my RTW when i went to malaysia for a test ride, parked, went for dinner for 20minutes and the bike was gone, never been found. i reckon there must be some organization behind this. AT is so valuable now. i met a south africa rider in latin america traveling with his wife on a very new AT. he told me that the dealer actually give him cash back discount of ....cant remember how much... if he decide to buy this brand new AT. There are many bike rentals in thailand.... pattaya...phuket...koh samui. i will go there and have a look after my RTW. now i learn to double lock my bike. |
