Two-q
Hi new to the site so here we go, (1) Ive got myself a xr650 (2000) model an the problem is that get a grinding noise comming from my clutch everytime im pulling off. Its ok when im on the go so i took it back to the shop and they changed the full clutch, but now when i pull the clutch lever in it starts to pull off,but i found out that the clutch plates are dry does that mean theres not enough oil in the bike?????
Q-2 how much oil does a xr650 take????? |

Sorry no-one could help. Luckily you've got it sorted. Don't let it put you off asking more questions there is usually a better response.

Clutch details
Kluck yed,
I have a '96 XR650L in Peru that I ride everywhere when I get down there.... I have thrashed it, crashed it, raced it, and rebuilt it multiple times....:oops2: The reason they switched out the whole clutch is that the slots where the fiber disks grab get notches worn in them, then they don't "float" correctly and hang up causing a slip, then a "chunk" when the clutch is released. Make sure you are using the correct oil too as this is a 'wet' clutch. More clutch problems than not are actually in the cable itself. Make sure its located correctly and not turning corners too sharply. Buy that little tool that allows you to force lubricant the length of the cable. It is very small and will fit in your tool pouch.:mchappy: Any questions about this bike that you don't want to post, just write me at: aroundtheblock07@gmail.com Toby (charapa) Around the Block 2007 | |
i found out that the clutch was missing its judder spring and spring seat...
