HU Victoria Meeting, Oct 23-25 2015 - New Location!

It's taken quite awhile, but we're pleased to announce that we've found a great new location for the HU Victoria 2015 event! Camp Marysville is just out of the village of Marysville on 20 acres bordered by the Marysville State Forest and rolling farmland, only 90 mins from Melbourne CBD. Marysville is in the Yarra Ranges, and the nearby Black Spur and Reefton Spur rides are famous with Australian motorcyclists! :D

The Camp was used as temporary housing while the town rebuilt after the fires, and in the last couple of years has been taken over by a non-profit organisation that runs educational programmes there, but also rents out the facilities to groups. They have everything we need on site, but with the added benefit of the town being close by.

Online registration is open now, early bird rates until March 31!

Sounds like an excellent find there Susan
It certainly is brilliant riding out there too :thumbup1:

We are looking forward to attending

Lida and I are planning on attending, all going well! Will be our first H.U. get together. WE have been tripping around the eastern states of Australia and South Australia for the last 4 years and now with visions of traveling 'further afield' and having viewed the five DVDs, we are looking forward to meeting others. Twenty five years ago we spent 4 years away from Katoomba, touring on bicycles. Now, a few years older, and Lida having gained her full motorcycle license, and...our son has reached 19 years of age, we have started touring again. As usual, small trips first, followed by trips of increasing length. New motorcycles are ordered and we look forward to continued adventures. If all goes as planned, we are off to Darwin via central Queensland and down the center for a six week jaunt in May/June this year. Rod.

I'll be riding over there from Adelaide on my Tiger 800xc. It's a great event well worth it, if you're even half tempted to travel.

Can't wait! See you there!!

Hi Barney
I know of about 4 of us that are riding over from Adelaide
Your very welcome to tag along
Haven't organized any meeting place or accommodation on the way but happy to stay in touch with you & keep you up to date if you like
Tailem Bend is a good meeting place for riding that way
Let us know what you think

Sounds good. I'm in the same boat regards getting there and haven't organised much yet. Be good to tag along with a few others.Happy to meet up with the 4 of you beforehand over bite to eat or a coffee.
Tailem Bend isn't a bad spot to meet. I tend to go via the hills from my place out to Palmer then head across to Murray Bridge.
I've committed to volunteering at the event and as such have said I'll aim to be there by 2 pm on the Friday.

Straysa 5 Aug 2015 05:16

Hey Barney have you decided on road plans? I thinking of heading over again this year. Probably leaving Thursday to get there Friday. Returning again over 2 days just to enjoy it.

I normally travel via Williamstown and Palmer to Tailem bend also. Might look to tag along if travel dates are amicable

Straysa 6 Aug 2015 04:41

Thanks Barney.

Sounds like a plan, are you planning on doing any dirt roads on the way?
I will be on a 2010 1200GSA but possible its first outing with me, normally on a big road bike, but haven ridden on plenty of dirt with road bike previously.

Will you be camping at Bendigo?

Wasn't really planning any dirt. Looking at it as more of a road trip and might take my road bike as opposed to the Tiger.
Am in the dorm at the event so I didn't have to bother with my camping gear so will be in a motel somewhere in Bendigo.

Edit. Will be taking the Tiger after all so will be open to any type of road surface that gets me there.

Ally 16 Sep 2015 04:02

Ally 22 Sep 2015 12:26

Have no idea on accomodation, I'm happy to pay up to $130 for a nights accomodation, just browsing booking.com
Maybe make a booking at the weekend or nxt week when I get my laptop back from the repairs

Had quick look on WOTIF and there are a few options that are fairly central. I'll book something later this week or on the weekend.

sparts77 20 Oct 2015 01:05

Is there any spaces as we didn't pre-register VIC ?

Hello Horizons Unlimited,

Argh... We missed the deadline for registration. It was touch and go whether we could swap our shifts at work around but we now have the weekend off.

Is it possible to still attend your meeting without registering?

We are driving down from Newcastle, NSW and just want to double check it is OK (and that you still have room for us to attend and camp) before we head off to meet you all.

Kind Regards,
Helen and John
