Arriving on Wednesday, one day ahead

Booked onto this event. I attended last year's event in October, which was excellent. Riding from Manchester, I'm taking the overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam on Tuesday and riding down to the event on Wednesday. I should arrive around 16.00. Looking forward to a reunion with friends I met at the last event and to meeting new friends and of course, a few beers. Hope the weather perks up?

See you all soon,

I found two motorcycle museums.

Motorcycle Museum Heinz Luthringshauser - The Museum - 67731 Otterbach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Located in 67731 Otterbach
about 30 minutes from the campground
Open on Sundays and National Holidays and upon request

Unser Museum
Located in 67280 Quirnheim
about 30 minutes from the campground
Open Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays and upon request

I would be willing to arrange a visit with one of these museums if there are others interested in going. I don't have a preference which one.
It would be neat having the museum all to ourselves, including a guided tour.

Could I please get some feedback during the next few days? Ta.

I just was thinking about something special as well. If you join from the North e.g. via the A61 there is a very impressing part of cold war history in the hills around Bad Neuenahr Ahrweiler. Ist called "Dienststelle Marienthal" and is a bunker with an overall lenght of 17km (now only 200m left for the museum). It was build to shelter the german goverment in the case of a nuclear war.

Dokumentationsstätte Regierungsbunker

Important you can only watch the bunker joining a tour as described on the website. Secondly if you take the A61 there is a part of the highway which was used as an emergency airport close to Bad Neuenahr Ahrweiler.

This can be an interesting break on the way to Pfrimmtal or a destination for a long 1-day rideout. There a lot of fun roads around. :funmeteryes:

ok, please clarify: what do you consider lower Bavaria? Can you be more specific? We are leaving the Munich area on Thursday.

Hello everybody,

I´m new here, first post.
Seen date, spontaneously decided to visit the meeting this WE.
But I cant find anything about the Timeline for the presentors.
Are there from thursday till staturday 3 different presentations every evening? Or are they during the day too?

Unfortunately i have to go to work on friday (maybe i can change this tomorrow)
Im thinking about visiting on thursday, work on friday, and get back in the evening or on saturday.
So a timeline would be great for me, could anyone help or get me informations about that.

Cheers

Awesome weather forecast indeed!

Oh no, someone mentioned the weather. We're screwed. We will all have to bring waterproofs now.

First post!

:oops2:
Kinda late to the party I guess, but I found time to come to the event

But since pre registration is closed, I wonder how I should go about?
Should I just drive there and pay both entrance + camping there? Or do I need to call up the place myself and reserve a spot at the campsite?

See you guys tomorrow :)
Ill be leaving the Netherlands (gelderland) around 14pm or something

darthraider 4 May 2016 22:06

I'd just go and figure it out on the spot, it's not that far from Gelderland.

And nice to see more fellow dutchmen at the event :-)

See ya there!

Moin, moin.

It seems I'll make it as well. See you!

We made it back home to Munich in 7 hours. The traffic was a bloody nightmare.

Thank you, Jens, for setting up a great event.

And a big THANK YOU to Filippo for temporarily fixing Helmut's brakes so that we could get back home in one piece.
