Leathermen tool considered a weapon
 
Mexican border crossing question.
Does anyone know if a Leathermen tool is considered a weapon, can one be carried when crossing the border?

Bike & Medical Insurance.
Is it better to buy these insurances on-line before the trip or is it just as easy at the border?
Is Sanborn a good company to use for insurance or is there a better one?

To call the US from Mexico is it better to buy a phone card in the US or in Mexico?

Buy the insurance online, Sanborns is fine.

Sorry, dunno about the phone card - I'd guess a Mexican one - but I'm ONLY guessing!

! I'm trying to get a SIM card to fit my cell.

Anyone who'll be at Creel - I need some gasket compound, something like Hylomar, and I've had no luck getting any here.

I'd be very grateful if one of you US chaps could bring a tube with you, for which, of course, I'll show m appreciation in the appropriate manner.

You can get very good phone cards here in Mexico City called Andino they cost $100 for over 100 mins to the States or Europe. There are other options but I'm not sure how many mins you get. They may be difficult to get out of Mexico City.

I'm coming up from Mexico City. I'll be leaving Thursday and should get there Sat or sun morning. I'm just pagking some ¨Black Silicone Hi Temp Sensor Safe Gasket Maker¨. I bought this stuff in Mexico some time ago and it still smells powerful enough to keep any liquid in or out of an engine. It's made by TF and should be easy enough to find almost anywhere. Hope this helps. See you on Sat. I'll be on a Black R1100Gs and probably camping until the wife arrives and says it's too bloody cold. See you then

Thanks Garry. I'm aiming to arrive on Saturday or Sunday - I'm in Guadalajara at the moment.

I need to do a lot of dismantling and rearrangement of gear and stuff, and, of course, leaks don't heal up but at least keep my boots waterproof.
