USA East, North Carolina 2012 Sept 7-9
USA East, Stecoah, North Carolina, USA
Full details and Registration open now! Please spread the word to your friends, download the poster on the webpage and post it up everywhere! If you haven't been, the riding in the area is fantastic, and the facilities are about as perfect a motorcycle campground as you can imagine - it's all right there, and the food is awesome! And this year, it's at a MUCH nicer time of the year, with great riding weather! We are now accepting applications from presenters for putting on a show, it can be on any bike related traveling topic. If you've been on a big trip, learned a few things, or have technical expertise or at least good experience on any topic of interest to our travelers please sign up! For some more ideas on what YOU COULD present, see the UK Meeting. We are also looking for volunteers as usual! We had an excellent crew last year doing a range of activities. It takes help from volunteers to put on the meeting and this year we'll need a few more. When you register for the event you'll have an opportunity to volunteer, and we'd greatly appreciate it if you'd help out for just a few hours. It's a GREAT way to meet people too! I hope to see YOU there! http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ilies/clap.gif |

I think I tried to speed register and missed the items. I need a XXL Synthetic T-shirt. Black or grey, either is OK with me. I would also like to add membership. Let Mike know if ther is any cost difference and I will settle up with him at the meeting. Again, take care of yourself. Everything else is secondary. Kurt |
may ride up from Jax
Thinking of riding up from jacksonville, fl. If anyone is heading that way let me know. Will be on a klr650. Any idea how many people wull be attending?
|
Panama, it varies, but there will be 60-100 or so, depending on weather etc. There's always great presentations and loads of people to talk travel with, and who knows, you could meet your next travel partner!
Also worth trying contacting the Jacksonville Community to see if anyone is going. Have a great time! |
i'm heading up from Louisiana, i'm sure our paths will cross somewhere on the way up there...if not i'll see you there
i would say you could expect 75 or more riders Quote:

Paul are you riding?
Paul will you be riding your bike there? Or driving?
|
i'm riding, if you want to PM me your email i can send you the route i'm taking
|
Fuge, just found out I will be going to Montreal the same weekend as the HU meeting.....
Next time I guess |
Spammers cause us a lot of trouble - which is why we have the PM restriction - we catch them before they post too many and get PM permission.
Also to secure your address and so you don't have to post it in the post in ANY form, obfuscated or not, we have a secure system: User A can just click the users name they want to contact, say User B, and they'll get a dropdown with "send email". User A fills out a form, and the system sends the email to user B. User B's email address is protected until User B replies to User A. (User A never see User B's email address until User B replies to User A as with normal emails.) |

Hey guys, the NC meeting was my first event, and what a great time!
Great people, great presentations, specially the last one, Sat night, and by asking around, met some great people to ride with and done some very fun offloading riding in addition of riding the "Dragon" I will be looking forward to the next event. Great job!! David I am the guy from Brazil riding the Red BMW GSA :) Hello to all the people I met!! |
Excellent meeting!
I had a great time, too. It was very rewarding seeing so many people there this year, and I hope everyone had a good time. Many thanks to all the presenters who took the time and spent the effort to educate and entertain us all!
I'll be posting some photos shortly, as soon as I can go through and edit them. Suffice to say, I rode home to Virginia on Sunday thinking about far away lands, exotic cultures, and interesting food. And how I can do this myself! Thanks, everyone! |
tenere from NJ
I woke early and had a long ride so i took off early. i just wanted to thank all the HU "staff" for making me feel so invited and comfortable. i am a long time ADV guy but have my mind set on long trips. i will be keeping an eye on this forum. thanks again.

It has been seven months since the event, but I stumbled onto this thread while researching the 2013 HU events. I am thinking I will go to North Carolina again this year, and I may take in Colorado. I want to ride back to Colorado this year, and I might as well attend HU.
Last year, I produced an interview with RTWPaul, and posted it on my blog. Subsequently, I gave a talk on SideStandUp about the event. The post can be found here, with both audio interviews. Attending Horizons Unlimited North Carolina | D. Brent Miller http://dbrentmiller.com/wp-content/u...NC-9_thumb.jpg http://dbrentmiller.com/wp-content/u...ke-2_thumb.jpg It was a fun event. See you on the highway. Brent |
